Interior
When we designed our house, we put in an upstairs laundry behind the kitchen where we had originally put a pantry and small quarter bathroom. As you can see the room is quite narrow with only enough room for the door and washer and dryer. While this is a utility room, it was dark and had a distinct "long and narrow" feeling. Now with the addition of the bay window, the room is twice as bright and has a much wider feeling. The window is 67" long and 32" high. This adds much needed shelf space and huge imrovemnt in comfort. Before the long solid wall lended a "closed in" feeling while doing laundry. Here in the second window, you can see the difference the window makes in the long outside wall. Notice the quality of the installation. There were no marks in the existing drywall or the wallpaper. The crew (Tim and Nick) were extremely careful in not damaging the interior of the home during the construction phase. After installation the only remaining thing to do was to lightly sand the oak and appyl some minwax stain and satin urethane sealer with a foam brush. The results were very pleasing. Not having to re-do the drywall or even the wall-paper made this upgrade remodel one of the most painless projects we have yet undertaken.

Trim Detail

Here you can see some of the careful attention Tim and Nick applied to the fabrication of the roof of the window and the installation of the Jchannel and re-installation of the existing siding. The roof was first constructed of wood then attached to the house. All voids were filled with insulation and all seams were caulked and sealed. There are no unfinished edges. An aluminum roof was then fabricated and mounted on the wooden structure. A final bead of caulk has bee placed around all outside edges completely eliminating wind and water intrusion. As you can see from the photos, detail and workmanshipp are excellent. The addition looks like it has always been on the house.
