Kris Finishes Second Overall in TaG
Heavy for the 2006 Season
This was our second full season at St. Louis Karting Association (SLKA) and this year we were able to complete five races. That's one additional race more than last season. Kris ran consistantly in the top three places and his lowest sixth place finish was due to engine problems that slowed him in the final two laps of the race.
The results were: Race #2 3rd - Race #3 6th - Race #8 3rd - Race #9 1st - Race #10 2nd. We missed races 1,4,5,6,7 due to Kris working in Farmington at the Swift Scout Base as Aquatics Councellor. If you look closely you will notice that we have new graphics on the Kart and helmet this year. Perhaps they brought him luck. Kris will receive his 2nd place trophy at the SKLA awards banquet in Feburary. I've also promised him a Honda 125 shifter motor for next year to run in the stock 125 shifter class. Considering the fact that we were only able to run five races, we consider this season to be successful.
Kris also had his first win in race nine but only because the leader experienced bad racing luck and broke a throttle cable. We'll take it. We were due for some good racing luck after going through bad carb issues and broken chains and even a broken wheel this season. Fortunately most of our back luck was during qualifying or in the pre-final races. Class champion Neal Quick was our target goal setter for this year, and we were slowly closing in on his track times. Kris's qualifying times are only about .5sec off the track record in his class and on any given day he is now competitive for a win inTaG Heavy.

We'll be moving on to stock shifter class next year where he will be one of the heaviest competitors. Kris is looking forward to driving the higher performance shifter Kart. We very much appreciate the assistance and support of Greg Yocum and the rest of the crew at PG Racing which never failed to get us back out on the track in time to start each race.We also would like to thank the officers and workers at SLKA for their efforts to run safe, fair and fun events at the Pevely, Missouri track. We're looking forward to next season. There are links below in the graphics for both SLKA and PG Racing.
